Emerging singer and actress Rhyon Brown shows west coast love on her debut single “California.”
On the Harmony Samuels-produced song — which samples Ronnie Hudson And The Street People’s 1982 classic “West Coast Poplock — Rhyon pays homage to her hometown of Los Angeles. In the song she shouts out some of LA’s prominent figures including Tupac, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar.
Along with her new single release, Rhyon also shared the accompanying music video. Directed by Zues Zamani, the video takes place in a dessert where flexes her dance moves.
“California” is the first taste of what’s to come from Rhyon’s debut project, Pretty Girl, which will release this fall on BOE Music Group.
Rhyon is not only an emerging artist but also an established actress. She is best known for her leading role as Lizzie Sutton on Lincoln Heights. She most recently portrayed Michel’le in the Lifetime biopic Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le.
