Ashanti is not here for fake news. In the R&B veteran’s video for “Say Less” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, she sheds light on how public figures have to endure rumors and gossip — even if claims aren’t true.
“Sometimes I feel like, is it really all worth it for people to attack you or judge you without even knowing what kind of pain or suffering you may be going through behind closed doors,” Ashanti says in the intro. “It’s amazing to me that people don’t care about finding out the truth. They just run with the lie. Honestly, people need to say less.”
Directed by Noyz and LT Hutton, the video addresses allegations about her such as Murder Inc’s indictment and a hit-and-run incident.
“Say Less” is the first single from Ashanti’s forthcoming album that is slated to release later this year.
