Rising R&B act Siergio delivers a music video for his latest single “Waiting,” which was directed by Ace Drewman.
“The leading lady is portraying God, at least the image I have of him,” Siergio explained in a statement. “I wanted to express that illustration of him still working on his plan for me. You get to see the doubt and the confidence in her. In one of the clips, we almost meet but something happens where she changes her mind and I double check for my keys.
This causes us to miss one another but it’s important that you see that she doesn’t necessarily leave me. Instead, she glances at me from the distance and I continue towards my dreams, my goals and my destiny. Driving represents me still fighting and pushing forward no matter what because honestly that’s all I know and I do believe we (God) will eventually meet and our ideas of where I should be will meld.”
Siergio also expanded on the meaning behind the song. “I wrote this song based off of a conversation I had with God. I was losing my patience and I wanted answers. I’ve done everything ‘right’ and according to how he wanted, and I just couldn’t understand why there was such a delay in where I want to be with my career.”
“Waiting” is lifted from Siergio’s album, This Will Hurt, which dropped last year. The project peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes R&B Albums Chart and No. 10 on Billboard’s R&B Albums Chart.
