Chaka Khan has something good to tell. Billboard reports the Queen of Funk has inked a global representation deal with ICM Partners.
For the exclusive agreement, Khan will have a team of agents led by partner/head of music, Mark Siegel, to represent her career in all areas, including television, publishing, and motion pictures.
“Chaka Khan is more than an artist; she is a world-renowned icon,” Siegel said in a press statement. “Her timeless music and unmatched style has blazed a path for generations of music creators, and we are excited to have the privilege to be a part of her incredible team.”
With this new backing from ICM Partners, Khan will continue to stand out as a trailblazer in pop culture. Her many accolades include 10 Grammy awards, seven RIAA-certified singles and 10 RIAA-certified gold and platinum albums, among countless others chart honors and awards.
In February, Khan released Hello Happiness, her first album in 12 years. She primarily collaborated with producer Switch and singer-songwriter Sara Ruba Taylor. Before 2018 capped, Khan became the first African-American to be named Grand Marshal in the 130-year history of the Rose Parade. She also set the standard as the first Grand Marshal to perform during the New Year’s Day festivities.
Among other things in Khan’s world, the R&B diva recently launched a new wig line with Indique. She is still involved in her forthcoming documentary Chaka Khan: Keep On Holding On, which is slated to arrive later this year.
