Urban adult contemporary radio listeners can’t get enough of Johnny Gill’s latest single “Soul of a Woman.” The beautiful song has reached No. 1 on the airplay chart.
The tender ode nabs the R&B vet another urban AC chart-topper, with his last being “This One is For Me and You,” the lead single from his 2014 album Game Changer.
Like his previous number one single, Gill could be in line for another summit victory as “Soul of a Woman” rises from No. 3 to 2 in its 17th week on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart this week.
“Soul of a Woman” is the lead offering from his upcoming studio album, which is expected to arrive later this year. According to a statement, Gill promises his next album will “be one of his best bodies of work, boasting a signature R&B delivery.”
On June 15, Gill is headed to Chastain Park in Atlanta to perform alongside Maze and Frankie Beverly and Lalah Hathaway. A month later, the crooner will play a three-night residency in Alexandria, Virginia at The Birchmere. The first show starts on July 26.
