Calvin Richardson is making a strong return to music after losing his voice last year. The R&B veteran stamps his comeback with plans to release a new album next month.
Scheduled to arrive on October 25 via Shanachie Entertainment, Gold Dust is Richardson’s first album since 2017’s All or Nothing. He recorded his upcoming album in a six-week period after the ink dried on his latest recording deal.
While Richardson completed Gold Dust without 100 percent of his vocal strength, he reassures fans that his creativity was well in tact. The evidence of his raw talent shines through on the album’s lead single “Let Me Love on You.” The affectionate ode has a traditional R&B production that is sure to resonate with his adult R&B listeners.
“I found inspiration from my own relationship and the fact that everyone wants a successful relationship,” said Richardson in a press statement. “The more you love on your mate, the better your relationship is going to be.”
On September 28, Richardson is set to play at the third annual Evening Under The Stars Blues Festival in Atlanta. Tickets are on sale now.
