“It pays to tell the truth.” Yesterday, the R&B songstress released her new song called “Zero,” which features Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill. Cole sings about a man who has been unfaithful in a relationship and has told lie after lie.
“It pays to tell the truth. Look at what you had to lose/ Should think before you do/ Did you not know the rules?,” Cole sings. “Now you leave with nothing, nada…”
Meek Mill, who comes to the man’s defense, offers an explanation in his verse: “I lie just to protect you, never to disrespect you.”
“Zero” will appear on Cole’s forthcoming Woman to Woman album, due in stores on Nov. 19. The 12-track album will feature collaborations from Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Ashanti, Elijah Blake, and Robin Thicke. The album also includes singles “Enough of No Love” featuring Lil Wayne and “Trust and Believe.”
