R&B veteran Usher halts the release of his eighth studio album. Tentatively set to arrive this month, Usher tells Billboard.com that he isn’t rushing to release his “UR” album.
“The album isn’t scheduled anymore,” he confirmed. “I’ve basically taken it back. I’m taking my time with it.”
After the album’s lead single, “Good Kisser,” didn’t dominate the Billboard charts as anticipated, the pushback doesn’t come as a surprise. However, the “OMG” crooner wants to continue “having fun” as he finishes the upcoming album.
The only two songs that give fans a glimpse of his new album are “Good Kisser” and the latest single, “She Came to Give It to You,” featuring Nicki Minaj. He tells Billboard, “I haven’t finished the album enough to tell you what I’m talking about.”
However, he does promise that his “New Flame” collaborator Chris Brown will make an appearance on his completed album.
While fans await an official release date for Usher’s “UR” album, they can buy tickets for his “The UR Experience Tour,” which kicks off in Montreal, Quebec, on November 1.
