Tank has released R&B Money: The Vault, a deluxe edition of his final album.
The expanded project features five new songs, including the lead single “Before We Get Started” featuring Fabolous, a top 10 hit on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Speaking on R&B Money: The Vault, Tank tells Rated R&B, “The fans asked for more, so how could I say no? This is for them and the tour starts in a few weeks. This is all really exciting, and I can’t wait to hit all these cities. This is all for the love of R&B music!”
Among the deluxe album’s new tracks is the sultry “Come Inside,” where he invites a love interest to settle down with him. “Outside be so crazy / You could still be my lady / But only if you come inside,” he croons.
“Lonely” is an honest conversation about feeling isolated with his lover. It’s not confrontational by any means; instead, it highlights the importance of clear communication in a relationship.
“‘Cause I’m so lonely / I know a man ain’t supposed to admit that / But I’m tryna to be heard so I need you hear that / ‘Cause we’ll get to a place that I know we can get back,” Tank sings.
On the acoustic-driven “War,” Tank further explores friction in a relationship stemming from trust issues: “Everything I’ve done before has you living in fear / Oh, oh, I’m losing this fight.”
The devotional “Wanna Love You” incorporates Tank’s signature R&B stylings with a touch of Jersey Club without sacrificing the integrity of the song.
Tank released R&B Money on Aug. 19, 2022, via R&B Money and Atlantic Records. All four singles from the album — “I Deserve,” “Can’t Let It Show,” “Slow” featuring J. Valentine, and “See Through Love” featuring Chris Brown — reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
R&B Money, Tank’s final album, included additional features from Vedo, Alex Isley, Rotimi and more.
Regarding the album, Tank shared, “[It’s] a labor of love to my fans and to the genre of R&B. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for artists like Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Keith Sweat, Al Green, as well as my fans who inspire me every day to make music.” He added, “I wanted this album to pay homage to my influences and my evolution as an artist, and I think that’s what this final album represents.”
On May 10, Tank will kick off his R&B Money Tour, with special guests Keri Hilson and Carl Thomas, at The Fillmore in New Orleans. The 25-city tour will make stops in Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Memphis and more before concluding June 23 at The Pearl in Las Vegas.
