Emerging singer Grace Carter has released her new single called “Ashes.” The song finds Carter singing about the troubles of getting over a past relationship.
“Fighting for my survival / I can’t lay this love to rest / It’s the night when I think of you most,” she sings on the Mike Dean-produced cut.
“It’s a song about the frustration and need to get over someone but not quite having the strength to do so yet,” Carter tells Rated R&B. “Working with someone like Mike Dean who has worked on some of my favourite records was an honor.”
Earlier this year, Carter released her debut single “Silence.” The song made a lot of noise on digital platforms and has garnered over 9 million streams. It was also featured on ABC’s hit series, Grey’s Anatomy.
Carter is putting finishing touches to her debut EP that is slated to release in spring 2018.
