Bajan singer Amanda Reifer has released her new track, “Devastating (Album Interlude),” via Title 9/Atlantic Records.
On the two-minute track, Reifer sings, “If I ever give you love / It would be devastatin’ / If you’re sure it’s what you want / Here’s your invitation.”
Speaking on her new song, Reifer explains, “I like to keep my songwriting conversational and honest. ‘Devastating’ is sexy and raw, and I love how the melody allows the emotion to drip off my lips.”
“Devastating” is the third song shared from The Reifer Files, following “In and Out (Interlude)” and “Bitch Like Me (Intro).”
According to press materials, The Reifer Files is “a series of audio/visual content releases which carry you through Amanda’s roots expressed through her fierce Bajan Pisces perspective.”
Speaking on The Reifer Files, she told BET.com, “It taps into so many different qualities and characteristics of my own personality, but also of women in the world, and I want it to be received in that way.”
“Devastating” arrives with an accompanying visual directed by Reifer and Kwesi “Q” Trotman, which can be viewed below.
Reifer, formerly of the Bajan band Cover Drive, is featured on Kendrick Lamar’s “Die Hard,” along with Blxst, from his 2022 album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. The Grammy-nominated track peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
