Kehlani has a new album coming this summer.
The singer has announced their fourth album, Crash, will release June 21 via Atlantic Records.
The upcoming project will be available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats. According to Kehlani’s webstore, the standard Crash vinyl is red apple, while the two limited edition versions are red with black splatter and clear. All vinyls are priced at $27.98.
Fans also have the option of purchasing the following CD bundles: Crash CD with autographed poster ($14.98), Crash t-shirt + CD with autographed poster ($45), and Crash hoodie + CD with autographed poster ($90). The t-shirt and hoodie are also sold separately.
Crash will include the lead single “After Hours,” produced by Khris Riddick and Alex Goldblatt. The official music video, filmed in Las Vegas, debuted earlier this month. It has garnered over 1.6 million views on YouTube since its May 6 premiere.
Speaking on “After Hours,” Kehlani told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, “Coming out of this pandemic to global tragedy, to global tragedy to global tragedy, I was like, ‘I’m not really in a space of wanting to make something that feels super jarring or super sad.’”
They added, “I’m very outspoken about these things, but I want my art to provide some kind of life and fun, and I want to go outside. I want to hear this outside, and I want to feel good. So I focused just on making something that feels really good. The second we finished it, we just couldn’t stop listening to it. Then we tested it at the club and in the car. It was so fun.”
Crash will also include the upcoming single “Next 2 U,” which Kehlani previewed on Instagram. On the devotional track, they sing, “You’re more than the sun, you are the sun beams / Your love is high, wide like a river.”
