Kelly Rowland has unveiled the video for her single “Lay It On Me” featuring rapper Big Sean.
The alluring video was directed by Sarah Chatfield, who also directed Rowland’s “Motivation” video. In the video, Rowland is surrounded by a troupe of shirtless male dancers and models.
At the time of publication, “Lay It On Me” has been on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for seven weeks, peaking at No. 43. Perhaps the steamy visuals will help drive the song to the top.
“Lay It On Me” is the second single from Rowland’s album, Here I Am, which was released July 26. The album includes the Lil Wayne-assisted single “Motivation,” plus additional features from Rico Love (“All of the Night”), David Guetta (“Commander”), The WAV.s (“Down for Whatever”), and Lil Playy (“Work It Man”).
Here I Am debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, with 77,000 copies sold in the first week.
“I didn’t want to put any limits on myself as far as the sound is concerned,” Rowland told Chicago Tribune. “I felt like on this one, I wanted to do my own thing. I got to do that and am glad I have a label that supports me.”
In other news, Rowland is nominated for Favorite Female Artist at the 2011 American Music Awards.
