Female R&B group Brownstone gained much popularity during the mid-1990s.

Signed to Michael Jackson’s record label, MJJ Music, Brownstone released their debut album “From the Bottom Up” in 1995. One of their famous songs was “If You Love Me,” which was featured on the album.

“If You Love Me” was the second single lifted from “From the Bottom Up.” It was actually their biggest hit. It spent 27 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 8.

It also spent 34 weeks on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at #2. The single went on to become certified gold by RIAA.

“If You Love Me” was also a successful record overseas. It spent 12 weeks on the U.K. Singles Chart, peaking at #8, and peaked at #1 on New Zealand’s Singles Chart.
