During the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, Raheem DeVaughn interviewed his R&B colleagues Tank and Tyrese. They discussed their R&B group TGT (Tank, Ginuwine, and Tyrese) and the progress of their album.
During the interview, Tank revealed that the group has already started recording their album and there will be a tour in the future. Tyrese added, “We are working with two producers on the whole album, including Tank and we’re just gonna mold and shape the spirit of R&B and remind [people] why they fell in love with R&B in the first place.
In addition, Tyrese talked about his new book with Rev Run titled “Manology,” slated to release early 2013. He described the book as “bold, raw, and uncomfortable truth.”
When asked if there are any features/collaborations on the album, Tyrese expressed his frustration with today’s R&B music:
“This is my problem that I have with a lot of today’s R&B albums. They are over-saturated with appearances. Is it an album or you’re putting out a mixtape? And then you got 30 different producers working on one album, the spirit and the inconsistency of the album is all over the place.”
At the end of the interview, DeVaughn expressed his interest in joining the TGT tour. Now, that would be an amazing tour!
Sounds great!!!!
