Is Aaliyah back? There have been reports that there’s a posthumous Aaliyah album in the works, and Drake will allegedly be the executive producer. It looks like the rumors are true. Yesterday, Drake released a new Aaliyah song titled “Enough Said,” featuring himself.
The beat, produced by Noah “40” Shebib, is reminiscent to Drake’s critically acclaimed buzz single, “Marvin’s Room.” The song features mellow Aaliyah vocals that was cut from her unreleased track. Honestly, the song isn’t that bad. I like Aaliyah’s smooth vocals on this record. However, Drake could have left himself off the song. It’s merely a distraction – especially his ad-libs. If he wants to help bring Aaliyah’s music back, he needs to just do that. “Enough Said” sounds too much like a Drake song, and I quite frankly don’t like that about it.
