Melanie Amaro has debuted her latest single titled “Long Distance.” Her stellar vocal performance on this record proves why she was the winner of X-Factor USA. The 20-year-old singer is set to return to the X-Factor stage tonight (Dec. 6) to perform “Long Distance.”
The title is pretty self-explanatory. Amaro sings about her frustration about being in a long-distance relationship: “Baby I just want you to know I hate the way I’m feeling/ Talking ain’t enough/ I need you to touch me / Why you so far from me?”

“Long Distance” will appear on Amaro’s upcoming debut album titled Truly…, due early 2013. Amaro has been in the studio with music industry heavyweights such as Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Kuk Harrell, and Bleu McAuley, among others. Her album will feature a mixture of R&B and dance-pop.
Speaking on her debut album, Amaro said: “There’s one side of me that’s all about pop, the kind of music you can move and dance to and have fun with, but my biggest influences have always been singers like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and I definitely stayed true to that on the album.”
It looks like “Long Distance” is a winner. In August 2012, Amaro released two songs: “Don’t Fail Me Now” and “Love Me Now.” “Don’t Fail Me Now” is a dance-pop song. “Love Me Now” is a piano-driven ballad, which really showcases her great vocal ability. Both songs failed to receive proper promotion for some strange reason.
