On Jet Magazine
“For me it wasn’t for anybody but me. I worked so hard to get to where I am now. And I don’t want to take it back, I want to move forward. If I don’t stand for something, I’ll fall for anything. And I think that they were used to that Fantasia that never said anything and that’s why stuff got haywire when there was so much said about me. It’s was almost like using me as the clown act. I’m not that girl anymore. So I just wanted them to know, don’t take it back 10 years, when worked so hard and did a shoot for 10 hours, to show the new look with the new music, that’s all. ”
On New Album
“I worked with one producer on this album. I enjoyed the Lauryn Hill album, the Justin Timberlake when he just worked with Tim, Micheal Jackson when he just worked with Quincy Jones on the Thriller. So I wanted a album like that where I’m not bouncing around from to here to here, so I just worked with one producer out of London, his name is Harmony Samuels.”

Side Effects of You, due April 23, will feature collaborations from Kelly Rowland, Missy Elliott and Tank.
