It has been nearly two years since Keri Hilson released her single “Lose Control” in May 2011. Since then, the R&B diva has seemed to reach a “breaking point” as she quietly exited the music scene temporarily. Hilson commented on her sudden absence and addressed her fans via Twitter.
“I’m not TAKING a leave of absence, I TOOK a leave of absence,” said the Decatur native. “[I] decided to finally let my fans know that I did indeed step away for a while.”
The No Boys Allowed singer added, “I’ve hidden so many details of my life from the public view…but please know that although you may not understand my leave of absence (yes it was my decision), I’ve cherished your love & support.”
There are no worries about Hilson returning to the music scene. When asked if her absence was for good, she stated, “No, NOT for good. Never that.”
Now that Hilson is opening up with details about her personal life and leave of absence, we can’t wait to hear details about new music from the 30-year-old singer.
