Robin Thicke takes the success of “Blurred Lines” overseas and earns his first-ever No. 1 single on the UK Singles chart. The T.I. and Pharrell-assisted song is already a hit in the United States, charting high on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
“UK! Thank you all so much for giving me my first #1 single with #BlurredLines. So appreciative,” Thicke tweeted on Tuesday.
Aside from snatching the No.1 spot with “Blurred Lines,” the song also broke a record in the UK for the fastest-selling single of 2013. The record sold an impressive 190,000 units within the first week of being released — not too bad for the “Magic” singer.
“Blurred Lines” is now on iTunes and the single’s video is available now on VEVO.
