Chris Brown recently teamed up with WE US, Walk Everywhere in Unity’s Shoes, and donated 1,000 sneakers to kids in the L.A. area.

On Saturday, Brown visited Crenshaw High School in L.A. spreading the word of unity and positivity with his Unity campaign partnered with the L.A. mayor’s office. Brown channeled the gift of giving and supplied 1,000 smiling faces from Compton and Baldwin Village with a pair of Reebok sneakers. Brown is showing the world that he is on a continuing new path.

“Thank you for allowing me to continue to inspire change in the world,” tweeted Brown after the weekend event. “Today was a great step forward!”

Brown’s anti-gang violence message and campaign was launched by his recently released video for his single, “They Don’t Know,” which includes a mock scene of the 1991 movie “Boyz in the Hood.” The music video opens with the message, “Every two hours in America today a child dies from a gunshot wound.” Brown’s positive unifying message of unity and love looks to be a turnaround for the Virginia native and could rid the singer from his accrued bad boy image.
