Chrisette Michele faithfully tries to bolster sales of her “Better” LP with a performance on The Steve Harvey Morning Show.
With less desirable sales for her fourth studio album “Better,” Michele continues to push her music by performing hits “Charades” and “Love Won’t Leave Me Out.” With two backup singers and a gentleman on guitar, Michele steals the spotlight with her soft airy vocals. As Michele pours out her heart through the mic, her evident talent spills through.
“This girl can sing for real,” says the impressed Steve Harvey.
“It’s early in the morning and she can still do her thing,” says Co-host Shirley Strawberry enjoying the performance.
Michele’s unique vocals and staccatos paired with her authentic style make the soulful singer stand out from the rest of her colleagues. Maybe this is why the singer’s music doesn’t have the commercial appeal that results in boosting sales.
Nonetheless, Michele’s performance seems to give a better look into her musical talents and capabilities. The performance gives off a centric, poetic vibe as if in a poetry hot spot. As she sings both “Charades” and “Love Won’t Leave Me Out,” she gives her all and strips down to all her emotions.
“I wrote this song because I had thought that maybe love left me out,” says Michele at the start of her singing “Love Won’t Leave Me Out.” “I had to remind myself that ‘you know what that’s not the case’”
Michele slayed her performance and I’m sure gained some new fans. Harvey and Strawberry were both bobbing their heads and squinting their eyes at the raw talent in from of them. Witnessing Michele’s natural raw talent, it is probable that “Better” could’ve topped the charts with more marketing and a leading hit single.
