Ciara has always been the type of public figure to keep her private life out of the limelight. However, as of lately the “Body Party” singer has been more open about her personal life including her love life.
In a recent interview with Radio.com, Ciara explained why she is more open now and how love inspired her self-titled album. Read excerpts from the interview below.
On being more open…
“I feel like sometimes you can be so private and so guarded, you prevent yourself from really discovering yourself or things period. So I’m in the mental state of not over-thinking things, living my life for me, letting go and letting things be what they are. And I’m learning that that’s the best thing that I could have possibly done.”
On showing her vulnerable side on “Ciara”…
“I’m always so tough and I can be such a perfectionist that I can leave things on the surface. Even if I feel a certain way about them, I won’t allow you to see how I feel. And so I just felt like I needed to be more vulnerable, I needed to allow myself to embrace the things that weren’t so perfect that maybe didn’t go right.”
