Janelle Monáe has recruited Miguel for her new single “PrimeTime.”
On the smooth track, Monáe and Miguel sing about being madly in love.
“Tonight is me and you alone / Won’t make a call, won’t even write a song / See I’ve been waiting and waiting for the time to say / Now listen babe,” Monáe sings in the first verse.
Miguel responds in verse two, singing, “Tonight is me and you alone / Won’t take a call, won’t even write a song / This’ll be a personal holiday / Listen, babe.”
Monáe’s duet with Miguel will appear on her upcoming sophomore album, The Electric Lady, which hits stores on Sept. 10.

In addition to Miguel, the album will include guest appearances from Prince, Erykah Badu, Solange, and Esperanza Spalding.
The Electric Lady is the follow-up to Monáe’s debut album, The ArchAndroid.
Speaking on the album’s title, Monáe told Esquire, “The Electric Lady, the title, was inspired by my painting. And as I was painting the silhouette and singing in front of thousands of people night after night, I was thinking about this woman. But I didn’t know I was going to name her the electric lady. That title didn’t come to me until my therapist recommended that I name the series of paintings and do this showing at a museum or something.”
