Billboard 200
Justin Timberlake’s amazing MTV Video Music Awards performance must have taken a week in a half to settle into the minds of fans because his album “The 20/20 Experience” rises from the Top 30 back to the Top 10. Last week, the album sat at No. 22 but this week it moves 16 slots to No.6, selling 37,017 units. The album now totals 2,217,980 copies sold since its release.
Nearly seven years since the release of Justin Timberlake’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds” the LP finds its way back into the top 100. Last week, it was No.159 (due to the memory lane of hits at the VMA’s) but now it moves to No.79. The album featured such hits like “Until The End of Time,” “My Love” and “SexyBack.”
While the men of TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, Tank) had a great debut last week at No.3, their first collaborative effort did fall from the top of the chart. However, pushing a little over 27,000 units in its second week, the album stays afloat in the top 10. According to Hits Daily Double, the “Three Kings” is expected to sell between 21,000-25,000 units next week.
Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” album moves one spot up from No.6 to No.5 this week. It has sold 55,183 copies, totaling 391,808 since its release.
“The Right One” songstress K.Michelle makes a stumble from No.14 to No.28 with “Rebellious Soul.” However, the album did push over 100,000 units. In fact it has sold 106,504.
Riddle me this – Who and what has entered the top 200 but only 20 spots from exiting? The answer is Marques Houston and his new album “Famous.” The album debuted at No.180 on the Billboard 200. There is no telling how much the album sold since both Chart News or Hits Daily Double failed to mention its sales.
Billboard Hot 100
The run was cute while it lasted. Robin Thicke has been finally over throne by pop counterpart Katy Perry and her latest single on the Hot 100. His single “Blurred Lines” has spent 11-weeks atop the chart.
No worries though, with only two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, Thicke’s latter tune “Give It 2 U” featuring Kendrick Lamar flies from No.83 to No.25 this week. However, only heaven knows if it will reach the success of “Blurred Lines.”
Finally R&B fans have registered the fact Justin Timberlake has a new single titled “Take Back The Night.” It had us worried the last few weeks as it failed to move up the chart but it has managed to rise from No.44 to No.29. It marks his first Top 30 hit from the upcoming album “The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2).”
Ariana Grande’s Mac Miller assisted-track “The Way” falls from No.26 to No.32 while Chris Brown’s “Love More” featuring Nicki Minaj remains at No.52 this week.
Bruno Mars debuts No.60 with “Gorilla” lifted off his latest project “Unorthodox Jukebox.”
