Soul powerhouse Jill Scott stopped by Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club radio show for an interview with the crew, where she discussed performances, change ups, love, what she’s doing now musically and so much more.
After Charlamagne Tha God recalled experiencing an emotional Jill Scott performance, the singer name “Hear My Call” and “Quick” as her records that makes her the most emotional.
“I don’t like to do it, but I know somebody in the audience needs to have a moment,” she said. “That’s why they came.”
She also discussed her physical and musical change over the 13 years of her career thus far.
“I keep switching up because I’m working in so many different facets,” she explained. “It’s all about breaking the molds. There’s a core of me that’s still Jill, of course. I’m in the process of being a better artist at all times.”
Of course, the topic of Jill’s break-ups and past relationship drama surfaced during the interview. Jill Scott gives the “biggest pointer” for men when approaching her. “You have to treat me like a person, that’s one. Two, a lady. And we got to be boys…and don’t be scared of me. ”
Jill revealed that she’s currently working with producers like David Banner, 9th Wonder and Andre Harris for new music. She will also perform at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on New Years’ Eve and she appears in the movie, “Baggage Claim,” hitting theaters on September 27.
