A lot of folks have placed R. Kelly in the irrelevant seat of the R&B world for some time now — namely his carbon copy, Trey Songz. Any who, to help build buzz for his return to the R&B game, Kells invited Revolt TV to a private listening session in Atlanta, GA for his 12th studio album “Black Panties,” due November 11.
During the candid session, the “Write Me Back” crooner went into preacher mode as he touched on the blessings and the curses of the music industry and noting he wanted to be remembered as “gifted” – not “talented.” He even stated loving the fact that doubters have counted him out. He calls it “inspiring” as he readies the next phase of his career.
His lead single “My Story” featuring 2 Chainz currently peaks at No.33 on Urban radio and No.23 on Billboard R&B Songs chart.
Watch the “King of R&B” as he talks about his new album and his quest to proving the naysayers wrong.
