Mariah Carey had social networking sites buzzing earlier this week when she announced her new single,” The Art of Letting Go,” the title track to her upcoming album. The R&B diva told her fans that her new single will drop on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. via her Facebook page.
Today (Oct. 18), Carey shares more details about her new record via her Facebook page.
“I wrote and produced ‘The Art of Letting Go’ with my friend, the uber talented Rodney Jerkins,” Carey said in a letter to her fans. “We had worked together before, but this time around, I feel we went down a more organic path in terms of our approach to the songwriting process.”
” ‘The Art of Letting Go’ was the second of two beloved songs I wrote with Rodney for this album,” she explained.
“As we were writing, we both got goosebumps and a feeling of nostalgia. It might sound over the top but when I was singing this song, I felt like I had touched upon certain emotions within myself that I haven’t put on a record in a very long time. I truly can’t wait for all of you to hear and share these feelings with me.”
