Mary J. Blige’s holiday calender continues to stay “booked.” The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has been announced as a performer at this year’s Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She joins others singers such as James Blunt, Zara Larsson and hip-hop group, Envy.
Blige follows in the footsteps of previous performers Ne-Yo and Jennifer Hudson, who sung at last year’s prestigious ceremony.
The concert will be held on December 11 at Oslo, Norway’s Spektrum Arena. It will broadcast in the United States on AXS TV along with 100 countries worldwide.
The Nobel Peace Prize will be presented to the Organization of Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which is overseeing the disarmament effort in Syria. The award is given annually to an individual or organization whose work “exemplifies a spirit of hope and leadership that will help promote peace in the world.”
