Faith Evans kicks off the New Year with some exciting news. The R&B Diva released a video teaser to promote her forthcoming sixth studio album titled “Incomparable.”
The short video recaps Evans’ success, including selling over 18 million hits in two decades, having chart-topping albums, and becoming a New York Times Best-Selling Author.
“Incomparable” will reportedly include collaborations from Missy Elliott, Jazmine Sullivan (who has kept a very low profile), Keke Wyatt, Karen Clark-Sheard, and B. Slade.
The album is also expected to feature production from Chucky Thompson (Mary J. Blige, Usher), Mike City (Brandy, Carl Thomas), Futuristiks (Eminem, Dr. Dre) and Brian Alexander Morgan (SWV, Eric Benet), to name a few.
“Incomparable,” slated to release this year, is the follow-up to Evans’ 2010 release, “Something About Faith,” which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 with nearly 24,000 sold during its first week.
In 2012, Evans released her “R&B Divas” compilation album featuring “R&B Divas: Atlanta” cast members Nicci Gilbert, Keke Wyatt, Syleena Johnson and Monifah. It also featured guest vocals from Fantasia and Kelly Price.
Despite having some of the greatest vocalists on the album, it debuted at only No. 46 on the Billboard 200, selling 10,817 copies during the first week of sales.
Thankfully, first-week sales don’t dictate an album’s success. Evans’ “R&B Divas” album is nominated for a 2014 Grammy for Best R&B Album. She will compete against Alicia Keys (“Girl On Fire”), John Legend (“Love In The Future”), Chrisette Michele (“Better”), and TGT (“Three Kings”).
