
Last night, the 2014 BET Honors aired on television. The star-studded event, hosted by Wayne Brady, paid homage to African-American luminaries in different industries. This year Aretha Franklin, Berry Gordy, Jr., Ice Cube, Kenneth Chenault, Nelson Mandela and Carrie Mae Weems were honored.
It wouldn’t be a ceremony without stellar performances. This year’s performers included Smokey Robinson, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Tamar Braxton, Karen Clark Sheard and Jannelle Monae.
