It’s great to step into a musical time machine and relive the music that we enjoyed growing up. The iconic band, The Jacksons, help us do that again on the “Arsenio Hall Show” where they performed their classic tunes.
Gathered around Arsenio like kids at a campfire, the four musical brothers took fans back while singing a cappella renditions of “Dance Machine,” “ABC” and “I Want You Back.” In addition to performing those three throwback records, the quartet jumped on stage to sing “Can You Feel It.”
While the classic soul group prepares for a 40 show residency in Las Vegas starting on Feb. 20, it’s also talks about a new album. “It sounds like Jacksons music, with today’s sounds,” said Jackie Jackson to Billboard.”People still want to hear that Jackson 5 harmony; we can’t get away from where we came from. That’s what they want to hear. But there’s a lot of new flavors we can combine that with. Something like Bruno Mars’ ‘Treasure,’ that’s like on old Jacksons song. When I first heard that song I said, ‘That could have been on one of ours!'”
The Jacksons hope for the album to be out some time this summer. It will be their first album since 1989’s “2300 Jackson Street.”
