R&B singer/songwriter John Legend has scored his first No.1 record of his “Love in the Future” era. On Sunday (Feb. 1), the nine-time Grammy Award winning crooner’s soothing ballad “All of Me” topped the Urban Adult Contemporary radio chart after knocking Robin Thicke’s “For the Rest of My Life” to No.2.
The heartfelt tune, dedicated to his now wife Chrissy Teigen, has reached nearly 1,900 total radio spins since debuting on the chart at No. 42 on August 15, 2013. “All of Me” surpassed its predecessor “Who Do You Think We Are,” which peaked. No.12 and totaled 748 radio spins.
Last month, Legend performed “All Of Me” at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. His stirring rendition of the Dave Tozer-produced cut helped it rise from No.4 to No. 2 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart and from No. 49 to No. 27 on the Hot 100.
