Dondria Nicole is rebranding herself with a new stage name and sexy image on her newest single “Coat Tail.”
Accompanied by horns and drums reminiscent of an HBCU marching band, Nicole exudes feminine confidence on the funky, self-assured track. “So fly, ooh I love it when I look at myself in the mirror babe/So High, ooh these heels only walk on cloud nine./Boy no lie, ooh I bet I kill em every time/That’s why I keep em’ hangin’ on my coat tail,” she sings.
The “You’re the One” singer told Singersroom, “This single is about self-worth and loving yourself. For the longest, I was afraid but now is the time and I’m far from it! This single is savvy, sexy and just what we women need to say in order to gain the respect we deserve.”
The song, written by Carmael & TRE ACE and produced by LT MOE, is the first offering from Nicole’s forthcoming sophomore LP, due out this summer on So So Def.
