R&B’s urban alternative artist Miguel joins forces again with his “Lotus Flower Bomb” collaborator Wale. The two artists honor Sir Elton John and the 40th anniversary of his seventh album, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” which he will re-release on March 25.
The two-disc deluxe edition will feature artists from all musical backgrounds like Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé and Fall Out Boy who share their renditions of Elton’s classic tunes. Miguel and Wale take on Elton’s 1974 hit “Bennie and the Jets.”
In previous music news, Miguel released “Simplethings” a guitar-driven track lifted off HBO’s “Girls: Vol. 2″ soundtrack. He is also hard at work on his third studio album. He states he plans to incorporate a classic rock sound into his new project. With the new album, the Los Angeles native also says he wants a “f-cking summer anthem” this time around.
While fans patiently wait for Miguel’s new album, take a listen to his remake of “Bennie and the Jets” below.
