Nivea takes a step out of her hiding hole and reflects on her musical journey, reality TV offers and new music.
It’s hard to believe that over a decade has passed since Nivea began her musical journey. Experiencing limited success and ‘Complicated’ hindrances including publicized relationships and problems with album releases, Nivea is ready to take the next steps in her life and career. Even though Nivea has been out of the spotlight for a few years, she has many great reasons for it. The Georgia native has been raising her family, participating in philanthropic efforts and creating music independently.
Before getting to where she is today, Nivea gives a flashback of when she first put out music for the industry. The 32-year-old admires how blessed she was to work with greats like the Neptunes on her first record.
“I came with half of my album and then at the same time had an opportunity to work with such incredible people that meshed with my new sound and introduced Nivea for the first time.” Nivea continues running through her catalog and provides insight into her mental space when creating hits like “Don’t Mess With My Man,” “Laundromat,” and her introduction to the world with Mystikal’s “Danger.”
Now with kids and doing music independently, Nivea admits that “[music] is very hard, but it’s still much of a priority for me.” Nivea says she pursues her dreams by letting her kids witness her music and taking them along in the process. Even though Nivea is interested in sharing music with her kids, she is not interested in sharing her kids or personal life with the media. Reality TV looks her way to share her story, but she rather shares it through her new music. Nivea tells us that her new music will be very revealing and her album will be called “Nivea Revealed.”
