While Trey Songz has the charts blazing with his Teena Marie sampled track “Na Na,” he catches some heat from his girlfriend who caught him cheating. The “I Invented Sex” crooner blames his act of infidelity on “Smart Phones,” the latest single from his forthcoming album.
Although his girlfriend may already know the truth of his accidental call, Songz realizes the only way to clean his hands of this unfortunate mishap is to tell her a lie. “I don’t know what I’m gonna say, but I know that I’m gonna say whatever it takes,” coos the “Fumble” artist.
Last month, Songz revealed to his fans that his sixth studio album will be titled “Trigga,” after his nickname/alter ego who occasional raps. “I’ma be having fun on the album. There’s a lot of great records on there. I worked with a lot of great people and I’m still recording every day.”
His latest single and DJ Mustard produced track “Na Na,” entered the top 30 of the Hot 100 chart last week. In addition, the single is No. 6 on the Hot R&B Songs and No. 9 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
