Just when folks were off to bed, Mariah Carey announces the new title of her forthcoming album and unveil its accompanying cover art.
Carey will release her 14th studio album “Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse” on May 27 via Def Jam Recordings. The album will include guest appearances from Miguel, Trey Songz, Nas, Wale, Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly and Fabolous. It will also include an appearance from her twins Monroe & Moroccan better known as “Dem Babies.”
The back cover of Carey’s highly awaited album is very special to her. “This is my first and only self portrait,” Carey reveals. “I drew it when I was three and a half and titled it ‘Me. I Am Mariah.’ Please don’t judge me for such a simplistic title. Come on, I was only three and a half. It was a creative visualization of how I saw myself with the purity of a child’s heart before it was ever broken. I’ve kept this story in private for so long but because this album is a reflection of some of the peaks and valleys that have made me who I am today, I decided to share it with those of you who actually care and have been here with me through it all.”
