R&B songstress Jhene Aiko unleashes an alternate version of “Stay Ready (What a Life), a track from her “Sail Out” EP.
The L.A. singer serves consistency as she releases yet another track from her well-recieved EP “Sail Out.” Following her previous release “Comfort Inn Ending,” Aiko sticks with the same formula that sets her apart from the rest. Although, there is something else the the singer unveils on her new track “Stay Ready (What a Life),” her alter ego J Henny. Aiko describes it as her alternate persona who is an inspiring rapper.
“She still sings, but she’s more aggressive,” says the 26-year-old. “She likes to really talk a lot of sh** and talk about things that a lot of R&B singers don’t talk about.”
We’ve heard a bit of J Henny on Aiko’s previous successful track “The Worst.” The L.A. singer’s raw musical content and fearless, non-conformative attitude is what makes her music authentic and her artistry distinctive. Later this summer Aiko plans to release her debut full-length album from Def Jam “Souled Out,” a follow-up to the “Sail Out” EP.
