On Tuesday (May 6), R&B’s ladies man Tank booked an appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show” to get a head start on promoting his upcoming release, “Stronger.”
As the musical guest for that episode, the TGT group member catered to the women in the “Wendy” studio audience and made each one of them feel like a star as performed his new single, “You’re My Star.” With the dancing assistance of four beautiful women, the Grammy-nominated crooner provided a few simple dance moves as he sung the uptempo record across the stage.
Last month, Tank was scheduled to perform the national anthem at a L.A. Clippers game. After the team’s owner, Donald Sterling made some not-so smart comments about African-Americans, the R&B star refused to sing the patriotic tune. He told the gossip maven his reasons for boycotting the anthem, “For me it was simple,” he said. “I’m a black man, completely. To believe what I believe about black people and how great we are and how much work we’ve put in for that man….that’s a check I don’t need. If he doesn’t want us in that building, we don’t have to be there.”
According to All Access.com, his new single “You’re My Star” stands at No. 12 on Urban Adult Contemporary radio.
