We travel back to 1998 in our latest installment of Throwback Thursday with Jagged Edge’s “I Gotta Be.”
The heartwarming ballad, written by members Brandon Casey and Brian Casey, served as the second single from the group’s debut album “A Jagged Era.”
The song was the group’s most successful single during that era. It spent 16 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 23. It also peaked at No. 11 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.
Did you know there were two videos filmed for “I Gotta Be”? The second version of the video featured all original members of Destiny’s Child.
