It has been nearly five years since Jordin Sparks released a full-length studio album. With her label RCA Records not backing her third studio album, the wheels on the bus — known as her career — just haven’t being going round and round. However, she could be moving forward with the new project soon.
In a recent interview with ABC News Radio, she reveals that “I just had a really amazing meeting with the label and everything and I’m pretty sure we’re good to go.” She continues, “So, I’m gonna get back in the studio, record the last couple of songs,’cause we got a whole bunch recorded already, and then, I want [a] single at the end of summer, [and then a] fall [album] release.”
She wants her fans to know her music hiatus wasn’t on purpose. “I have been trying so hard to get some music out!,” she says. “And sometimes it’s not as easy as ‘Let’s put an album out.’ Like, it just doesn’t work that way. And sometimes I think my fans assume that, and it gets pretty frustrating ’cause it doesn’t happen like that.”
Jordin Sparks is Frustrated with Album Delay, Hints Independent Release
Last December, Sparks expressed her frustrations with RCA Records and even hinted about releasing her third album independently. “I think I have a really amazing door that just opened up with hopefully being able to get an album out working with a person that I really, really trust and getting it out kind of on my own,” said Sparks.
We’ll see how this music soap opera plays out.
