Vocal gem Marsha Ambrosius unveils the album cover artwork and the release date for her long-awaited sophomore album “Friends & Lovers.”
Gearing up to add a second musical collection to her discography, the English singer reveals the simple artwork for her sophomore effort. With most album covers displaying the artist in some aspect, Ambrosius chose to be selfless and let the artwork do all the talking. With just her name reading at the top, a pair of red sensual lips and the Parental Advisory logo in the bottom, right corner, this album may have more in store than what we expected from the soul singer.
“You can expect me to be a complete asshole on [the] album,” says the 36-year-old shockingly. “Honestly and openly, the expressions of a woman, a very honest woman and I’m not taking any prisoners.”

Well, that’s not the impression gathered from her recent ballad “Run,” but maybe Ambrosius has some interesting tricks up her sleeve. She’s obviously not running away from talking about any issues this time around. The honest album will be released via RCA Records July 15.
If you’re itching to experience “Friends & Lovers” sooner, the album will be available for pre-order June 23. Once the album is released, the deluxe version will be released exclusively at Target with three extra tracks.
