Kelly Rowland offers inspirational words on a track called “The Game.”
“What doesn’t kill you will make you strong/ Face to face with the eye of the tiger/ You’re a soldier ready for war/ Like a phoenix, keep rising higher/ Don’t let ’em break you / Don’t let ’em see you fall,” Rowland sings over the bass driven track.
Rowland’s new song will appear on Pepsi’s new visual album, “Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game,” due on June 10. The album is an exclusive collection of 11 anthemic songs and companion short films, or ‘filmtracks,’ that capture the indelible international spirit, sights and sounds of the world’s most popular game – football.
“I was immediately attracted to ‘The Game’ because I can identify with its theme of overcoming challenges and finding your voice. It’s a very important message and I’m honored to partner with Pepsi on a project that brings the worlds of music, sports and film together,” says Kelly Rowland. “As an artist – and a huge film and sports fan – it’s been an incredible experience.”
In related news, Rowland is hard at work on her fifth studio album. So far, Rowland has recruited Pharrell Williams to contribute to the project.
