Bobby DeBarge Jr., son of the late Robert Louis “Bobby” DeBarge who was the lead singer of the 1970s Motown band DeBarge, is following and continuing his father’s legacy in music.
Having a father with such strong musical background has unsurprisingly rubbed off on Bobby DeBarge Jr. Rather you knew it or not, DeBarge Jr. has been singing since an early age wrapped up in the influence of his musical father prompting him to now pursue a music career. It’s only right for the Los Angeles native to follow in his family’s footsteps.
“My father would sing to me and encourage me to follow my dreams of sharing music with the world,” says DeBarge Jr.
The crooner describes his sound as a blend of R&B and Hip-Hop and will be releasing a project next year along with a tour and festival dates in Southern California. For now, the singer will be showcasing his music at the House of Blues Foundation Room Sunset Strip on July 26 at 9:30 p.m. In his set, he will also be paying tribute to his late father by performing two DeBarge classic hits along with his own original songs including “Drippin In Gold.”
