Dynamic R&B songstress Janelle Monáe delivers a college-themed music video for her single “Electric Lady” celebrating powerful women.
The electrified Monáe lets her afro loose and trades in her feminine suits for sorority attire (white pants, halter and jacket). The singer gets down like it’s her college days in the music video and is part of the Electro Phi Beta sorority along with some electrified ladies like herself. Monáe throws a party to remember at their sorority house with friends, fraternity brothers and even T.I. who crashes the party.
The “Electrified Lady” goes all out with a fierce sorority dance routine and even a marching band toward the end of the clip. The video exemplifies magnetic ladies having fun and celebrating their womanhood. The 28-year-old singer also cameos Monica, Estelle, T-Boz, Kimbra and Esperanza Spalding recognizing them as electric ladies as well.
“Electric Lady” is the title track of Monáe‘s second album that was released in 2013.
