It’s official. Tamia is the latest act to sign with Def Jam Recordings. The R&B veteran broke the news on Instagram with a photo of her and Def Jam execs.
“Let me introduce you to my new family #DEFJAM #wegotthis #newmusic,” Tamia wrote in a caption. Tamia joins other R&B acts on the Def Jam roster including Mariah Carey, Jeremih, August Alsina and Jhene Aiko.
The “So Into You” singer was previously signed to Plus 1 Music Group, where she released two albums — “Between Friends” (2006) and her latest “Beautiful Surprise” (2012).
While Def Jam has recently been supportive of their newer R&B acts, it’ll be interesting to see how much support Tamia — a seasoned R&B singer — gets from the label.
