Grammy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson released her third studio album “JHUD” today (Sept 23) via RCA Records.
She gets fans critics and fans excited about her new project by sitting down with Billboard.com to give up details on the album.
Hudson’s top-ten R&B hit “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel),” which served as the new album’s lead single was produced by Pharrell. The two collaborated on the her debut album but the songs didn’t make the tracklisting. However, she’s grateful to have him a part of her new studio effort – especially since they have something musically in common. “Where we connect is we both have a love of old-school music,” she told the online publication. “He’ll come in with a track and then I’m like, ‘I already know where I’m going with this. I feel you.’”
While Hudson made her mark in the music industry with her stirring rendition of Jennifer Holiday’s “And I Am Telling You,” the Chicago native does get tired of performing it. Yet, she’s “grateful for it.” She humbly realizes that she “will be singing ‘And I Am Telling You’ for the rest of my days.”
There’s no denying that Hudson is a great singer. She’s also a great actress as well. She would love to opportunity to put her acting skills to the test by portraying the role of the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin in a biopic. “That’s is my dream role,” she told Billboard. “I feel the same way I felt about ‘Dreamgirls.’ I’m ready, honey.”
