Mary J. Blige Unwraps ‘London Sessions’ Album Cover, Reveals Tracklisting

Mary-J_-Blige

Mary J. Blige is on a roll. After debuting her heart wrenching new ballad “Whole Damn Year,” she makes the track listing for her “London Sessions” album available for her fans.

Scheduled to drop December 2 via Capitol Records, the singer-songwriter’s 13th studio album will consist of 12 original songs that she recorded while living overseas this summer. It features the Emeli Sandé co-penned track “Whole Damn Year,” which serves as the single for urban and urban adult contemporary radio.

The album will also include “Therapy,” one of four songs penned by Sam Smith. The bluesy track acts as the single for pop radio format. Blige’s lower register and smooth tone shines brighter than ever as she utters the words to the soulful tune. She sings, “Why would I spend the rest of this week so bitter/And all that listening is making you bitter too/When I can go therapy/When I can go therapy/When I can go therapy two times a day.”

It appears that Blige has taken advice from our editorial piece “What’s The 411? The State Of Mary J. Blige’s Music And Steps To Improve Substance.” From the early listens of her songs “Right Now,” “Whole Damn Year,” and “Therapy,” the R&B legend has created a body of work that has an organic feel. She’s recorded all the songs from scratch, which helped her channel her true soul and recapture the heartstrings of her fans. In addition, Blige and her new label, Capitol Records have seemed to map out proper promotional tactics that will assist the album in reaching the masses. She will be performing at this year’s iTunes Festival and has gotten radio behind her new songs with major world premieres.

Pre-order your copy of “The London Sessions” on iTunes today and get the single “Therapy” instantly.
