Since the top of the year, the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, has had music admirers at the edge of their seats for the release of her remake album Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics.
With the release date (Oct. 21) fast approaching, the music legend has partnered with Amazon to make her new album available for streaming.
The 10-track set includes Franklin’s versions of Barbra Streisand’s “People,” The Supremes’, “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” Alicia Keys‘ “No One” and Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”
Industry icon Clive Davis tells VH1 that Franklin’s new album “personifies taking great copyrights and bringing a new life to them, showing the timeless nature of these songs that can withstand wholly different treatments -whether it’s reggae, whether it’s jazz, whether it’s combining it with another song, [or] different tempo.”
